Straight Talk about Braces and Sports, from Dr. Greenberg

Fall is quickly approaching, and you know what that means: fall sports! We at Dr. Greenberg's office want to explain the importance of protecting your teeth and braces while playing contact sports.

Wearing braces can actually keep you from loosing your teeth if you are hit in the mouth. However we recommend wearing a sports mouth guard to protect your lips, regardless of what sport you are playing.

We will supply our patients with a sports mouth guard, just ask! We do not recommend mouthguards that mold around the teeth. If you are having treatment with Invisalign, we recommend that you wear your aligners during sporting events along with the mouthguard.

Hope this helps!
